ITS handover should leave the operator with an understandable record of what was delivered and checked. Organise the file around project requirements, equipment locations and the acceptance activities agreed for the specific scope.
What to prepare for the project review
- Connect each agreed requirement to its verification record.
- Record approved changes and unresolved items separately.
- Identify the owner of operating documents, configuration records and support contacts.
Coordinate the decisions before release
Bring together the road owner, civil contractor, electrical team and operating team before the package is released. Each group should review the same junction or location schedule. Mark open questions separately so a preliminary allowance is not mistaken for an approved design decision.
The practical project deliverable
A structured acceptance file makes the delivered scope easier to review. FHWA systems-engineering guidance also emphasises verification against requirements.
